Complex and multisyllabic words can remain a significant challenge for older students who struggle with reading. In this Camp ONlit 2026 recording, Dr. Jessica Toste introduced Word Connections, a supplemental targeted intervention designed to build advanced word-reading skills, and examined the processes involved in complex word reading, the program’s seven instructional components, and considerations for effective implementation.
