Acadience Reading 7-8 Data Sheets

By Dana Miller (RCDSB) Last updated 2026/06/04

Description

This resource is a digital tracking sheet designed for teachers using the Acadience Reading 7–8 assessment with Grade 7 and 8 students. It automatically calculates gate scores based on raw data, saving teachers time and reducing the chance of error. It’s especially helpful for Special Education Resource Teachers, Literacy Leads, or classroom educators who support students with reading difficulties and need accurate, easy-to-use tracking tools to guide instruction and intervention.

As this resource was kindly provided by a member of the broader ONlit community and not produced by the ONlit team, it is only available in Google Sheet format, and not Microsoft Excel. If you or your organization are able to convert the resource to Excel and would be willing to share it with ONlit, we would love to hear from you!

Curriculum Connection

This tracking sheet supports the teaching and learning of key reading skills outlined in the 2023 Ontario Language Curriculum, particularly for students who need extra support building fluency and comprehension. It connects most directly to Overall Expectation B2 (Language Foundations for Reading and Writing) by helping teachers monitor how well students are developing phonics, word recognition, vocabulary, and reading fluency — the foundational skills that strong readers need. It also supports Overall Expectation B3 (Comprehension: Understanding and Responding to Texts) by giving educators clear data to understand how students are making meaning from what they read. This helps guide targeted instruction, small group support, and intervention planning.
