Syntax Party BYOB(Book) with Margie Gillis

We’re having a Syntax Party and you’re invited!

Join us on Monday, April 8th for a half-day workshop with Dr. Margie Gillis! Syntax is a key component of the new B3 Language Conventions Continuum, and it plays an important role in both reading comprehension and writing.

In this workshop, Margie will highlight the role of syntax in reading and writing outcomes. She’ll unpack key syntax knowledge necessary for educators, and walk through evidence-based instructional approaches to teaching syntax to students.

This is a BYOB (Book) party – please ensure you come to the workshop with a book ready.

  • For educators teaching kindergarten to grade 4, please bring a picture book with plenty of complex language that you would use for a read aloud.
  • For educators teaching grades 5 and up, please bring a book that students would read.

This workshop will be recorded.
