Welcome back! We hope everyone had a wonderful summer, with some time to rest and recharge before another busy school year. Whether you are heading back to a familiar classroom, taking on a new role, or welcoming a brand-new group of students, we hope September is treating you well.
We had a busy summer at ONlit, thanks in large part to all of you! Camp ONlit took over two weeks of August, with 30 webinars and thousands of educators joining us from across Ontario. We talked about everything from embedded mnemonics and oral language in Kindergarten to fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, planning, and Learning through Literacy across the grades.
One of our favourite parts of Camp was getting to hear from so many educators. The questions in the chat, the ideas people shared, and the conversations that came out of each session reminded us how valuable it is to have opportunities to learn from one another. Thank you to everyone who joined us, whether you came to one session or spent a good chunk of August at Camp ONlit with us. And if summer learning was absolutely not on your agenda, Camp ONlit recordings will be coming this fall! Keep an eye on the Resource Library; everything you need will be posted there.
There is lots happening at ONlit as we head into the 2026–2027 school year. We’ll be continuing to build out our Learning through Literacy materials for additional grades, with more resources designed to support knowledge building, vocabulary, reading, writing, and fluency across the curriculum. We also have new resources and professional learning in development across a range of literacy topics.
You’ll also see lots of opportunities to drop in and learn with us throughout the year. Our drop-in sessions will cover focused topics like screening and data, French Immersion, and Kindergarten instruction, with lots of time to bring your questions and talk through what’s coming up in your classroom. Each session will include a short presentation, followed by informal Q&A, discussion, and a chance to connect with educators from across Ontario.
And there is plenty more to come. We’ll be sharing new resources, recordings, learning opportunities, and updates throughout the year, so keep an eye on ONlit social channels and our emails as the year gets underway.
Most importantly, we hope you have a great start to the school year. Back to school is a busy season: new students, new routines, new schedules. We hope ONlit can be one of the places you turn to this year when you need a resource, have a question, want to learn something new, or simply want to connect with other educators across Ontario.
