Description
These play resources are designed to provide Kindergarten educators with ideas for educator-directed purposeful literacy play centres that link to the foundational skills they are teaching in Tier 1 instruction. These centres have been designed with the play continuum in mind, while providing opportunities for the practice component of explicit instruction, and have ideas for centres both indoors and outside.
Curriculum Connection
These centres reflect the changes in literacy expectations aligning with the new 2026 Kindergarten Curriculum. They also link to two of the instructional approaches: explicit instruction and play-based learning.
