  1. I have been listening to podcasts on the Science of Reading since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020 (because I had a LOT more time on my hands those days!) And this episode with Carolyn Strom is by far one of the best podcast episodes I have ever listened to. Dr. Strom is knowledgeable, speaks in a very teacher-friendly manner, and provides practical classroom strategies for every classroom teacher. This is an episode I could listen to over and over again, and still take away something new each time 🙂

  2. This research is exactly what educators require when creating lessons to meet the literacy needs of their students! More importantly, Strom’s diagram is an excellent resource to share with students and parents as well because they are just as curious and motivated to know the “whys” of the reading brain. More of these valuable podcasts please!

  3. Caroyln Strom has one of my favourite webinars for explaining how the reading brain works and how so much is firing during the process. She beautifully illustrates how what we see, hear and think work together within the brain to make reading happen. She really explains things in such a friendly way to be able to connect to.

  4. Another amazing Reading Road Trip episode. I love the way Carolyn Strom explains the reading brain, easy to understand and especially helpful for explaining to parents! Highly recommend listening and checking out the diagram in the show notes.
