This PaTTAN webinar focuses on Self-Regulated Strategy Development (SRSD), an evidence-based framework for teaching strategies for reading and writing. Research indicates that SRSD is an incredibly effective approach to teaching writing. SRSD is a structured yet flexible approach that has been proven effective for students of all ages, from Kindergarten to university level.
A padlet with resources is also available.

SRSD is definitely something to look into. My question or concern is with consistency across classes and grades. It would be great if we can begin using graphic organizers, language, etc in the early grades and build on it as kids progress through the grades.
I wanted to also highlight this link from Tanya’s padlet, which is one of my favourites. It is an article about powerful writing strategies by Graham and Harris: https://padlet.com/tanyalewis1/self-regulated-strategy-development-gz5e67s2ozbopw1r
I was very pleased to see that you included SRSD on your site! This is a resource I had not yet seen. I will certainly be using this, and others, with Faculty of Education Language candidates!
Much appreciated,
