These texts are judged to be \u201cat-the-students\u2019 language or reading level\u201d but deny students access to rich, interesting, age-appropriate text. This guidance document outlines some ideas for fostering conversations around \u201cjuicy sentences,\u201d where students learn to deconstruct and reconstruct sentences, understanding how different language features contribute to meaning.
